My French users have taken the liberty of starting up a Google Group to support each other more effectively in their native tongue. I’m following along with a very small understanding of reading & writing French (but I have Google’s language tools to help where they can), and I can say for sure that these folks know what they’re talking about! I recommend that all my French users check it out and participate as well!

I found an excellent article at the Apple site that discusses the ins and outs of different microphones, and even has some sample audio files that demonstrate the improvements you should expect with better-quality equipment.
Of course, the article is focused more on microphones for recording vocals and instruments, and makes no mention of measurement microphones. However, it gives you a good idea of how the built-in mic just won’t cut it for accuracy. Just listening to the three recorded guitar samples will open your eyes to how poorly a low-cost microphone will be capturing your measurements.
You can read the article here: Microphones 101: A Beginner’s Guide to Macs and Mics.

I have some good news for all you FuzzMeasure fans out there! Work on 2.0 has been pushed off into another branch in a total maintenance mode, and I’m scratching away at some of the new features I plan to add in FuzzMeasure Pro 2.1.
2.0 was starting to gain some new features in its maintenance releases, and I probably could have re-badged those changes as 2.1 long ago. Since life has been hectic the last few months, I couldn’t really handle a proper 2.1 release, so I went overboard with maintenance — sorry about that!
Anyway, work on 2.1 has begun. I have a small set of features that I’d like to integrate into the product to get 2.1 out the door, which is a healthy approach to take for a minor release. Most of these features won’t be utterly life-changing, but all of them will contribute to a better overall product. Keep your eyes on this blog for some further details about some of these new features as I get them done.
