7 Add Pitch Fine Tuning to the Toolbar (macOS)
When you work with older recordings, or you play an instrument with fixed tuning, it’s important that the recording is in tune with your playing. For this, you need to make fine adjustments to the pitch of the recording so that you can match the notes you hear to the instrument you’re playing.
But the pitch control isn’t part of the standard set of toolbar items, so you’ll need to follow these instructions to add it to the toolbar.
Step 1: Present the customization sheet
- Right-click the toolbar area, and choose ‘Customize Toolbar…’
Step 2: Drag the Pitch control into the toolbar
- Locate the pitch item in the sheet of controls
- Drag and drop the pitch item into the toolbar—we put ours next to the speed and key controls
Step 3: You’re done!
- Click ‘Done’
Now when you click on the Pitch item in the toolbar, you’ll see a popover that works the same as the Speed and Key items, where dragging the slider immediately changes the pitch of the song.
